Louise Stebbing A Lifetime of Printmaking
With a career spanning 40 years Louise has come a long way since her career began at Cambridge Art Foundation before going on to Sheffield and Camberwell. She has exhibited regionally and nationally including the Royal Academy and the Mall Galleries.
I draw inspiration from my environment and try to capture the essence of a place. My images usually start with a sketch and I like the print to evolve as I create it - not working out too much detail in advance, but using my many years of experience to let the image develop in the direction it happens to take me at that particular time. This helps keep the work more painterly and expressive.
