Jenni Wilson
Jenni gained a BA(Hons) in Applied Arts then completed a business development scheme in 1999. During that year, Jenni Wilson Jewellery was established in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, where it was based until 2008. Jenni now juggles work and family life designing and hand making her contemporary silver jewellery from her Staffordshire garden workshop.
Jenni enjoys using recognisable imagery from everyday life, she considers herself a bit of a magpie, taking delicate details or snippets of text and humour to create unusual yet elegantly wearable pieces of jewellery, which inspire the viewer to take a closer look. Over the years, various ranges have been produced, the most well-known being based on the theme of ‘Washing’, with more recent collections being inspired by birds on a wire, fifties wallpaper, vintage dressmaking patterns and matchbox art. Often incorporating colour and texture through the use of fabric, buttons, vintage wallpaper, sea worn ceramic and glass as well as enamelling, engraving, stamping and piercing, Jenni’s work is always made to the highest standard.
In earlier years, Jenni’s work was sold in many shops and galleries including Liberty London. In more recent years, Jenni has shown her work at The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey and The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, Manchester.
