A joint exhibition between the Ropewalk Print workshop and the Feral Printmakers
About five years ago Andi Dakin and Lindy Norton set up the Avenues Print Studio which became the printmaking facility for The Feral Art School. The Feral Art School secured more permanent city centre premises in Alfred Gelder Street and the print studios re-located. As a not-for-profit co-operative, it offers short courses and provides opportunity for more established printmakers to explore, develop and realise their own ideas.
Tim Needham wanted to bring an open access printmaking press to Barton upon Humber; together with other creative people in the town he realised this ambition in 2000 and The Ropewalk was launched, and housed the open access printmaking studio press, studios and galleries. Martin Maywood, Janet Cox and Tim Needham have since facilitated weekly ongoing printmaking workshops for artists working in this exciting medium.
About 40 printmakers are exhibiting their prints from both studios, which include etchings, aquatints, mezzotints, collagraphs, linoprint, wood engravings, mono prints, carborundum prints and much more.
