Jacob Chan, Emma Rodgers, Johnny Vegas Connection: North West

Sat, June 8, 2024 - Sun, July 7, 2024

Emma Rodgers is an artist who will be familiar to regular visitors as she has exhibited with us since 2002. Her career has gone from strength to strength, and she has had major public commissions including the life-size sculpture of Cilla Black that stands outside The Cavern Club in Liverpool and her famed Meccano Liver Bird. Jacob Chan is the young Wirral based ceramic artist who recently reached the final 3 in the Channel 4 TV show The Great Pottery Throwdown. His work is a blend of his traditional Chinese heritage and his Liverpool upbringing. His iconography includes Chinese Dragons and adding lost and found items into his work. Johnny Vegas studied Art and Ceramics at Middlesex University and has recently returned to making artwork. His biggest inspiration are the drawings, paintings and ceramics of the 20th century Spanish artist Joan Miro. He regularly appeared on the Channel 4 programme Grayson Perry’s Art Club which screened during lockdown and encouraged the UK to think creatively whist in isolation.
