This body of work is an explosion of colour and mark making, which explores the beauty in the objects around us and what this tells other people about our lives.
The objects in our homes are a window into who we are as humans. From the collections of tins in our cupboards to the decomposing fruit on our kitchen sides all giving the observer snippets of the lives that we have lived.
This body of work includes studio pieces alongside larger mixed media framed pieces, all of which are originals.
Hannah Turlington is an artist and writer who uses the experience of being human as a basis for her work. Hannah works in a variety of mediums and chooses the best one to match what she is trying to communicate.
Hannah’s work has a strong narrative that seeks to connect with the viewer so that they can share their own stories and find connection. As a writer Hannah’s words use nature as a metaphor for lived experience and the fragility that comes with being human.
Hannah lives and works in North Yorkshire, 14 miles from the coast, which she often heads to for clarity and solace.
