Widely known for her large scale installation artworks and commissions for health and wellbeing spaces, Gill’s studio works are a more intimate diary of her creative journey.

A Ropewalk Studio Artist working primarily in glass, colour and light are central to her work. Informed by the colours and shapes of Lincolnshire’s natural & built environment, Gill’s studio artworks use a variety of glass techniques to explore the different moods & modes of her engagement with place. From the shimmering colour and light of the river to the bright hopes of green energy futures, Gill’s colour palette ranges from soft iridescents to vibrant brights, her forms from hand blown to constructed glass techniques. Her ongoing commitment to a materials based practice using a broad range of skills and approaches inform her larger scale works, enabling a vibrant studio practice of smaller scale works that are available exclusively from her Ropewalk Studio base.

An artist with an international reputation, her work has been exhibited and commissioned widely in the UK and across Europe, the UAE and the USA. Ideas of joy, wellbeing, and the magic of artistic encounters infuse her work, which has been featured in show gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show and as part of the Light Up The North Festival Network. She was formally presented to HM Queen Elizabeth II for her stained glass work in Mental Health contexts and continues to explore the links between art and wellbeing.

More recently, in 2022 she was the guest speaker at the British Society of Master Glass Painters Centenary conference, interviewed for the acclaimed Creative Experience online series, and her work was featured in the British Glass Biennale. Her work is currently included in the Aesthetica Art Prize opening end March 2023.
