Sue Dunne has been working in ceramics for more than 30 years, since gaining a degree at Bath Academy of Art. She now works from her studio in rural Northumberland.
Sue’s ceramics are made from grogged white earthenware, generally starting with ever-changing plants from her garden or the woods and fields beyond. She then uses a choice of individual press-moulding, slab-building, sprigging, adding extrusions and anything else she thinks of, and then adds colour from slips or velvet underglazes before usually coating with a clear glaze.
During the last few years Sue has won awards and featured in publications such as Die Zeit, Craft & Design and the Northumbrian, and exhibited in several galleries throughout the UK.
